I needed a cute purse for a night out, but I didn’t have time to go shopping – enter the Novella Clutch pattern! It works up faster than making a trip to Target or Dillards, and you probably already have the yarn for it in your stash!
The Inspiration & Design
I love anything nautical themed, so I decided to make this bag with a navy base and a jaunty white stripe across the top. I like a neat, compact bag that can hold a phone, some chapstick and a pen – the three things I never leave home without.
The Yarn
I love this yarn. Bernat Beyond is round and smooth and makes crocheting with it a breeze. It also produces a heavy, sturdy feeling fabric when using a dense stitch like moss stitch. The project uses one skein of the Navy, and about a yard of the white to complete! I bought two balls of Navy and one of white, so I may make a smaller, contrasting color version of this clutch to carry during the summer.
